Craquelé: D99 Teal: 50g

A wonderful round tile that is hand molded and glazed with multiple layers of crackle glass and then acid washed for a permanent pearlised gloss. The gold and silver are electroplated with an antique acid wash finish. Spectacular in combination with matte glass or stone tiles as well as standard ceramic tesserae. There are a mixture of sizes between 17-20mm in diameter. There is a slight swelling during firing that gives a domed aspect with the centre of each tile slightly thicker than the edges, the center thickness is +/-6mm. The edges are straight and well defined. The glaze is hand painted in 3 lutrous layers lighter on the edges and deeper in the centre. During cooling the beautiful craquelé effect occurs. Then to create a mother of pearl finish the tiles are soaked in acid. These are high fired porcelain and are weather and UV resistant. 50g=+/-15 pieces, 250g =+/-75 pieces.
